Water Treatment
We have installed many confined space retrieval systems for water treatment facilities. Many customers believe that the davit base installation is a very simple process that can easily be done by anyone. However, once you read the fine print in the manufacturer’s documentation, you will discover that the installation must be approved by an engineer. We have encountered many questionable installations where epoxy anchors have been installed very near to the edge of the concrete, as well as bases that have been positioned in such a way that once a davit arm is inserted there is not adequate clearance between it and existing obstructions.
Our installation process begins with ourselves and our engineer reviewing the application and determining the appropriate fastening method. Our engineer prepares a sketch for the application and we install the base as per our engineer’s recommendations. After the base has been installed we conduct a pull-test to verify the installation of the epoxy anchors (if the base has been installed into concrete). We provide a stamped drawing and post-construction report for the customer.
