Portable Access Platform

One of our most recent projects was to develop a custom portable access platform for a couple of clients who had similar needs to safely access the top of railcars.  We worked with these customers to develop and design a very heavy duty portable access platform that could be towed behind a ¾ ton truck.  The two platforms are basically identical to one another however we also installed high pressure piping on the one trailer so that it could be used as a portable ‘gas’ transfer station, where material would be transferred from railcars into transport trucks.  The platform can be transferred to site in the shipping position and then can be assembled on site as required.

Both platforms feature:

  • On-board hydraulic pump system and 4 hydraulic leveling jacks.
  • Batteries to power hydraulic pump and charging system for batteries.
  • Full trailer lights for transportation.
  • Telescoping access gangway.
  • Height adjustable access gangway operated by electric screw jack.
  • Flashing light and flood light on top of platform.
  • Aluminum cage to surround crash box of railcar.
  • Video camera system for accurate positioning of platform.
  • Electric brakes.
